Overview
Instapatch is a UV-cured fibreglass repair patch developed for fast, permanent repairs to damaged GRP roofing. Unlike traditional fibreglass repairs that require resin mixing, catalysts, glass matting and specialist tools, Instapatch is supplied ready to use. Simply cut the patch to size, apply it over the damaged area and expose it to daylight or UV light.
Within as little as 15 minutes the repair cures into a rigid, glass fibre reinforced laminate that becomes waterproof, impact resistant and highly resistant to weathering and UV exposure. Once cured it can be drilled, sanded or painted just like a conventional GRP laminate.
Whether you’re repairing cracks, pinholes, impact damage or small areas of delamination, Instapatch provides a clean, professional repair without the mess or waiting time associated with traditional GRP systems. The manufacturer’s data states cure times of approximately 15 to 45 minutes under UV light and describes the cured patch as waterproof, impact resistant, heat resistant and highly resistant to UV degradation.

Application guide
Step 1 – Prepare the roof
Ensure the damaged area is completely dry and free from dirt, dust, grease, moss, loose coating and any poorly bonded material. A clean surface is essential for maximum adhesion.
Step 2 – Cut the patch to size
Before opening the protective packaging, cut Instapatch to the required size using ordinary scissors. Allow the patch to extend at least 25-50mm beyond the damaged area on all sides wherever possible.
Step 3 – Apply the Instapatch
Remove the release film from one side and immediately position the exposed adhesive face over the repair. Press firmly from the centre outwards, moulding the patch to the profile of the roof and removing any trapped air.
Step 4 – Leave to cure
Once applied, Instapatch begins curing as soon as it is exposed to natural daylight. Depending on UV intensity, the patch will fully cure in around 50 minutes.
Step 5 – Finish if required
Once cured, the repair forms a rigid GRP laminate that can be finished with either traditional GRP topcoat or standard paint.
